Who We Are

Alliance for Youths and Adolescents Health (AYAH) Organization is a community based organization based in Mityana district. It is legally registered as a CBO in the district under Min.6/DNMC/28/02/2018 of the district NGO monitoring committee Meeting with a Registration Number. MAA/266/21. Since its inception AYAH Organization has been involved in activities directly targeting adolescents and the youth in the community. The organization is aimed at organizing the youth, adolescents and other vulnerable children under one forum, offering them a platform of co-operation for the promotion of human rights, HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns, equipping them with knowledge and skills in order to proclaim their sexual reproductive health rights through working with peer educators in schools and communities by providing comprehensive sex education programs. And encourages activities of self-reliance through capacity building of community members in entrepreneurship.

AYAH Organization works with other partners in the district such as the District Health Office and networks of people living with HIV. It has established a strong network of young positives in Mityana and the neighboring districts with the aim of empowering them to overcome stigma, improve treatment adherence, and positive living. This has been a unique intervention that has brought on board the young positives on the campaign to achieve Zero new HIV/AIDS related death, Zero stigma and discrimination, and Zero new HIV transmission.

The Alliance for Youths and Adolescents Health (AYAH) Organization is hosting a virtual workshop during AIDS 2024, dedicated to enhancing holistic care for people living with HIV (PLHIV) by integrating mental health support. This event addresses the critical intersection of HIV/AIDS and mental health through innovative strategies and collaborative efforts.
