Cervical cancer Prevention, screening and treatment
AYAH Uganda is actively engaged in preventing cervical cancer through a comprehensive approach that includes education, screening, and treatment. The organization conducts community outreach programs to raise awareness about cervical cancer and its risk factors, emphasizing the importance of regular screenings for early detection. They offer cervical cancer screening services, particularly targeting women in vulnerable populations, including those living with HIV, to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment of precancerous lesions. AYAH Uganda also collaborates with local health facilities to integrate cervical cancer screening into routine healthcare services, enhancing accessibility and continuity of care. Additionally, they provide training for healthcare providers to improve their skills in cervical cancer prevention, diagnosis, and management. Through these efforts, AYAH Uganda aims to reduce the incidence and mortality rates associated with cervical cancer, promoting healthier communities across the region.
